Stakeholder’s Advisory Platform
Co-designing sustainable packaging for the Mediterranean food chain
The INTACTBioPACK Stakeholder Advisory Platform (SAP) is a collaborative network that brings together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, food producers, retailers, SMEs, and consumer representatives. Its purpose is to connect scientific research with real-world needs, ensuring that innovative biodegradable and home-compostable packaging solutions are practical, effective, and ready for market adoption. By encouraging open dialogue and knowledge sharing, the platform helps develop sustainable packaging solutions tailored to Mediterranean food products and environmental conditions. As a result, stakeholders actively contribute to reducing food waste, extending product shelf life, and tackling plastic pollution.
Knowledge Exchange
The Stakeholder Advisory Platform provides a space where participants exchange ideas, experiences, and expertise. Regular discussions and collaborative activities allow stakeholders to share insights into packaging challenges, sustainability requirements, and market expectations. As a result, this continuous exchange strengthens cooperation across the entire food value chain, from research institutions and businesses to public authorities and consumer organizations.
Guiding Innovation
Stakeholder feedback plays a vital role in shaping the development of INTACTBioPACK’s innovative packaging solutions. Involving end users and industry experts throughout the project ensures that new materials and technologies meet practical needs while staying economically viable. In turn, this collaborative approach helps create packaging solutions adapted to Mediterranean products, cultural preferences, and supply chain conditions.
Boosting Adoption
The Stakeholder Advisory Platform also supports the successful adoption of sustainable packaging solutions. Through active participation, stakeholders increase awareness of biodegradable and home-compostable packaging while building confidence in its environmental and economic benefits. Their feedback also helps identify potential barriers to market uptake and offers valuable recommendations that improve product acceptance and commercialization.
